Daniel Tashian co-wrote, co-produced and performed on Kacey Musgraves' album, "Golden Hour," which won four Grammys in 2019: album of the year, best country album, best country song, and best country solo performance. "Golden Hour" also won album of the year at both the 2018 Country Music Association awards and the 2019 Academy of Country Music awards.

Daniel Tashian co-wrote, co-produced and performed on Kacey Musgraves' album, "Golden Hour," which won four Grammys in 2019: album of the year, best country album, best country song, and best country solo performance. Daniel also co-wrote, co-produced and performed on Musgraves’ follow-up album, “star-crossed.” The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200, and reached #1 on the Country Album charts in the US and the UK. “Camera Roll,” which Daniel co-wrote, was nominated for a Grammy for "Best Country Song."

One could be forgiven for thinking of Daniel as an overnight success. But it's a success that's been decades in the making. At the age of 19, Daniel was signed to Elektra records on the strength of his songwriting. His debut album, "Sweetie," produced by T Bone Burnett, met with rave reviews but did not live up to commercial expectations.

Returning to his hometown of Nashville, Daniel began playing guitar, bass and singing on various sessions including recordings for Patty Griffin, Garth Brooks, Freedy Johnston and Missy Higgins. Daniel began writing for other artists, too, including Mindy Smith, David Mead, Lee Ann Womack, Tim McGraw, Billy Currington, Josh Turner (Daniel co-wrote his #1 country song, "Hometown Girl") and many others. Daniel's writing led to producing for artists such as Sixpence None the Richer, Josh Rouse, Lucie Silvas and Kacey Musgraves.

At the same time, Daniel formed The Silver Seas, and together they have released five critically-acclaimed albums. He's also recorded an album as part of the band, Skyline Motel. In addition, he has released various solo albums, including a collection of ambient music as well as his first album of children's songs which was nominated for a Grammy for "Best Children's Music Album".
